DemoEnvironment Programme

A new DemoEnvironment Programme for partner-driven cooperation through international dissemination of environmental technology to China and six other countries has been launched. The programme is funded by Sida and managed by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth. The objective is to promote sustainable growth and a stronger business sector in the area of environmental technology, to contribute to better living conditions for poor people. The programme consists of planning grants and support for demonstration plants relating to the introduction of new environmental technology. The programme will be implemented in the period 2012 and 2013.

Sweden at Renewable Energy Exhibition in Wuxi

From 3-5 November Sweden took part in the 3rd China Renewable Energy Exhibition in Wuxi. The pavilion was arranged by the Consulate General in Shanghai and the Swedish Trade Council with the support from the Sino-Swedish Environmental Technology Cooperation. It hosted companies Envac, Diab, SKF, Sweco, Green Fortune and Invest in Skåne. Consul-General Bengt Johansson gave a speech on renewable energy in Sweden at a seminar which attracted specialists on solar energy from China, US and Germany and other countries.

Tangshan Bay cooperates with Swedish consortium

A contract was signed on 17th October between Tangshan Bay Management Committee and a consortium of Swedish architects and Engineers to the effect of providing further planning, architecture and engineering advise to the new city of Tangshan Bay/Caofeidian.

Sino-Nordic financing agreement signed

NEFCO and the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China have, today, together with the China Development Bank Corporation, signed a Framework Agreement to establish cooperation on environmental cooperation. The initiative is called the Sino-Nordic Environmental Protection Cooperation (“SNEPCO”) Programme.

Prestigious award to Sino-Swedish eco-city planning

Tengbom plan for Wuxi

The Swedish architecture company Tengbom has won the Big Urban Projects category in MIPIM Architectural Review’s Future Projects Award. Together with Chinese UDG and Swedish ÅF, Tengbom has planned a 2,4 square kilometre innovative new city district in central Taihu New City in Wuxi, Jiangsu. They were awarded first prize in the Big Urban Projects category.
